CZECH REPUBLIC

Vlasta Lišková
In January 2004, Vlasta Lišková returned home to Prague after spending three years working in Luton with both the Grassroots organisation and as a pastoral assistant at St Anne’s. Her stay enabled us to learn a lot about the life in the church in the Czech Republic, and as Vlasta herself became a Christian having being brought up under a communist regime, we learnt a lot about the way God works even when life is not easy for the Christian community. Read Vlasta's open letter, in which she tells of her work in Luton.
A party went to Prague from St Anne’s with some friends from Bristol, and included in our time was leading seminars at Ecumencial Institute in Prague, where Vlasta had been lecturing. Read a report of this visit.
In the summer of 2004, scouts from Prague visited England, and went with our scouts to have a week’s camp at Gilwell. This summer, there is a group of scouts from St Anne’s going to the Czech Republic on a return visit.
Also in 2004 John and Julia Jolly and Edna Peck visited Prague and met up with Vlasta. Click here to find out more about their visit.
